Theese old bricks came from my grandfather. Collected from the area next to the factories, with the factory name and place. The small ones on picture one The practice of marking bricks goes back to ancient Egypt, where Ramses II supplied bricks with its own brand to protect against theft of stones. In ancient Rome the idea of shaping the stones with the brick factory name. This custom reached up to our southern neighbors in the late Middle Ages, when some large bricks and roof tiles were provided with the factories logo.
