Workshop in Devoto Prison, Buenos Aires

Yesterday was one of the most moving days in my life going to Devoto prison in Buenos Aires. Together with one of my heroes Coco Cerrella, who voluntarily for the last 10 years has been an artistic, visionary force, insisting on the power of love, generosity and educations ability to make a difference teaching prisoners at The Devoto prison. Yesterday I went to give the first workshop and presentation for the prison design class. The inmates gave me such a warm welcome, we have a wonderful day with many questions and discussions.

For almost a year we have been planning for me to get authorizations to go and do these workshops in Devotos education department, and yesterday we finally went for the first meeting. You are not allowed to take pictures inside the prison, so the images are in front of Devoto officially named "Complejo Penitenciario Federal de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires". Devoto was built in 1927 as a medium-security prison and managed by the Policia Federal Argentina with around 1,700 prisoners.
